Whitesnake’s iconic performance on the opening night of the inaugural Rock in Rio festival, on 11 January 1985, held at the specially built 250,000 square-metre Cidade do Rock (City of Rock) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  

Appearing on 11th January 1985 alongside bands such as Queen and Iron Maiden, Whitesnake performed again on Saturday 19th, this time along with AC/DC, The Scorpions and Ozzy Osbourne, with both nights exceeding an audience of 250,000 people.
