Queen’s legendary headline performances at the inaugural Rock in Rio festival in 1985, held at the specially built 250,000 square-metre Cidade do Rock (City of Rock) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Queen headlined two nights at the ten-day Rock In Rio Festival in 1985. It was the biggest music festival in history and boasted other headline acts such as AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Rod Stewart. Queen played the opening night on 11th and then again on 18th January, although their set began at 2am each night, technically dating their performances to 12th and 19th respectively. The band played for the biggest audience they would ever perform in front of - at least 250,000 each night, although some sources suggest up to 350,000 attended the first night!
