Peter Tosh – At My Father’s Place, Roslyn, 1978 (Limited Edition on 180g Green Vinyl)
Peter Tosh was a founding member of The Wailers with Bunny Wailer and Bob Marley. The Wailers disbanded in 1974, and Peter signed to CBS Records and released his classic solo debut Legalize It in 1976 followed up by Equal Rights the following year.
The Rolling Stones were smitten with Jamaica and Reggae, and signed Peter up to record for their label. His album Bush Doctor featuring his classic duet of (You Gotta Walk) Don't Look Back with Mick Jagger was released in 1978 and shortly after, he went on tour as an opener for The Stones on their Some Girls tour.
This live recording is taken from two performances at the legendary My Father's Place club in Roslyn, New York, on the 4th of July 1978, a rare night when he wasn't opening for The Stones. The backing band for the show was Tosh's new band, Word, Sound & Power that features the iconic drum and bass team of Sly & Robbie.
