Disc 2 - Rhiannon & Other Tales - Trod Nossell 1975 (Limited Edition on Clear Vinyl)

Fleetwood Mac had, by 1975, become a more rock-oriented act and now featured the classic line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. The unsung heroine was Keyboardist Christine McVie who joined the band in 1970 while married to John McVie. Christine has appeared, either as a member or as a session musician, on every Fleetwood Mac album except the debut album.

This release features one of the shows from September 1975 when Nicks and Buckingham were just beginning to make their mark. At this point the band had released the Fleetwood Mac album which formed a large part of the set but they were still also performing some of the hits from the blues orientated Fleetwood Mac.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy Lindsey Buckingham’s take on the earlier material such as Green Manalishi and Hypnotised.

    Side 1

    1. Spare Me A Little Of Your Love
    2. Rhiannon
    3. Landslide
    4. Over My Head
    5. The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)

Disc 3 - Never Break The Chain - Inglewood 1982 (Limited Edition on Clear Vinyl)

The 1982 album, Mirage, was a return to the more conventional song writing. Buckingham had been chided by critics, fellow band members and music business managers for the comparatively poor commercial success enjoyed by Tusk.

Mirage was recorded at Château d’Hérouville in France and was an overt attempt to recapture the huge success of Rumours.

However, in marked contrast to the mammoth Tusk Tour, the band only embarked on a short tour of 18 American cities, but Mirage was nonetheless certified double platinum in the U.S.

This is the live broadcast from Inglewood on 21st October 1982 and provides a powerful snapshot of the band at work on the Mirage tour.

      Track Listing:

      Side 1

      1. The Chain
      2. Rhiannon
      3. Gypsy

      Side 2

      1. Tusk
      2. I’m So Afraid
      3. Go Your Own Way
      4. Songbird

The music on these records was originally produced in the days when vinyl was king.

Vinyl records produce an analog sound that reverberates and creates that famous warm sound you can't find in any other medium. The music and vocals on vinyl records are much closer to the way artists sound live.

Clear vinyl is softer and molds easier during the pressing process. Vinyl is a naturally clear substance. Black vinyl records are created by adding a charcoal /graphite colorant which creates a harder surface and makes it easier to see tracks but can lead to static build up in the cartridge . As a result, the best clarity of sound quality is to be found in using clear vinyl.

NB. Audio recordings from live TV and radio transmissions will always embody the audio limitations of the original sources . Modern digital remastering techniques improve sound quality immeasurably . However, the original broadcast performances have often been recorded and mixed by TV or radio technicians rather than music specialists. Nonetheless clear vinyl will give the very best reproduction given the limitations of the original broadcast sources.
