Alice in Chains delivered a legendary, career-spanning performance at the Rock am Ring festival in Nürburg, Germany, on June 2, 2006. This marked a major milestone as the band had recently reformed with William DuVall sharing vocal duties with Jerry Cantrell following the death of Layne Staley.

The high-energy 10-song set is particularly famous for a surprise guest appearance by Metallica's James Hetfield - During the performance of their hit song Would?, James Hetfield walked on stage to trade vocals with Jerry Cantrell. Hetfield's appearance served as a heartfelt tribute to Layne Staley, and the performance is widely considered a standout moment in the festival's history.
