Hot on the heels of the resurgence in the appeal of vinyl comes the return of the cassette! Featuring classics such as Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls, One and Enter Sandman, this powerful album features the legendary Woodstock performance which captured Metallica at the peak of their powers.

On Saturday 13th August 1994 Metallica topped the bill at the Woodstock ‘94 festival. This amazing concert was broadcast live to air on TV and on local FM radio. The set list featured the highlights from the entire Metallica back catalogue, including their smash hits such as Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls, One and Enter Sandman. This powerful album features the legendary Woodstock performance which captured Metallica at the peak of their powers.

The recording sessions in 1990 which produced The Black Album had been a traumatic experience for Metallica. The group were at loggerheads with producer Bob Rock over the sound of the record. The inevitable result of this conflict was countless takes and remixes which ended up costing in excess of $1 million in studio time. However, the finished album was a huge hit with fans, and the LP would become their most successful to date. Metallica reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and remained there for four weeks; their first album to top the US charts, the album was certified sixteen times Platinum in the United States alone. It also delivered two of the band's best-known songs in the form of Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters.

In the aftermath of the harrowing recording experience during The Black Album sessions, Metallica did not record another studio album for almost five years. However, they knew they had to work hard to capitalise on the success of The Black Album.  The band therefore embarked on a mammoth series of live performances, staging over 350 gigs across three tours. In 1994 the band rolled into Woodstock; the result is this powerful record of the halcyon days of Metallica.
